The bride

Kimberly is a native of Suriname and was born on the 28th of July 1994. From a tender age my hobbies have been singing, swimming and dancing. And as the years progress many more things have been added to the list, such as reading, taking pictures, watching movies, listening to music and most of all having a good conversation accompanied by hearty laughs. For a getaway place I would always choose nature, because it helps me get back to a sense of peace and quiet and gives a jump start to a new or refreshed look on what's ahead of me. On the 29th of September 2012, I decided to give my life fully to Christ and follow Him in Spirit and truth, in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and since then, "everyday with Jesus has been sweeter than the day before". There is no bone in me that wants to turn back, it's forward ever with Jesus!

The Groom

Damien Benjamin is a native of Anguilla and was born on the 22nd of October 1987. I love playing sports such as Football, Cricket, Tennis and Basketball. My hobbies include diving, spear fishing and surfing the web. If you say adventure I am there and ready to go. My most favorite place is nature, there I can re-calibrate and go again. On the 12th of April 2012, I gave my life to Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and decided to leave the world and all it had to offer behind, and since then I have not regretted that decision, because Jesus is all the world to me!

Our Love Story

First time we meet

October 4th, 2019 in the lobby of the males dorm at the University of the Southern Caribbean at around 5pm. He sat there that Friday afternoon taking a breath after having walked the cardiac hill, a steep, heart palpitating and fat burning hill that leads to the dormitories. I on the other hand, had gotten a ride straight up the hill since a friend, Zenika Peters and I came from Curepe, most female students Friday, run. Zenika and I went to drop off KFC for a friend and there he sat. The very outspoken and friendly person that I am decided to have a conversation with the guy who sat there taking a breath… 🤭

Friendship

This started the day after we met. On Sabbath the 5th of October 2019, surprisingly we found ourselves at the same singles retreat, during the lunch break, Zenika and I sat on one of the benches, we saw him passing by as if he was going to sit by himself, so I invited him over. We had a great conversation and some hearty laughs in between. Later that day Zenika told me, "I think he likes you"... I was like nooo he is just friendly. We started talking the next day via Facebook messenger and build a friendship. COVID hit a few months after and continued the friendship long-distance, which seemed to progress naturally over time.

First date

December 31st, 2020 He asked for an exclusive relationship and our first date was on November 12th, 2021. It included our favourite Anguilla Chinese meal, curry chicken, half and half red rice and fries, my favorite red soft drink, he had a fresh juice, overlooking a beautiful sunset, great conversation and Sabbath welcoming worship. We were finally in the same place since COVID and the restrictions had made it difficult.

Proposal

On July 28th, 2022 I celebrated my golden birthday. It was supposed to be a quiet evening, just the two of us, getting something to eat, but he made it grand and special. From being picked up in a special vehicle to reaching the surprise birthday and engagement party. It was beautiful and my heart was stolen once again by him.

Friends

It was once expressed that persons are inclined to forget words but the feelings someone has evoked will be perpetually remembered. As such, Damien is an individual that extends himself beyond the mere surface into touching the heart and sentiments of persons. True enough, a great friend… but an even more incredible human being.

There is so much that I can say about my dear friend Kimberly but the top two things I can make mention of is that firstly, she is a selfless human being and secondly, she should be called “HELP” because she is always there for everyone 🤗🤗.
